Since malaria is a primary cause of morbidity in most Sub-Saharan African countries, one of Equatorial’s major focuses is the supply of products that address both the preventive and curative aspects of the disease. A holistic approach has been developed that includes:
  • Repelling the mosquitoes from biting the human target.
  • Elimination of the mosquitoes from living and sleeping areas.
  • Treatment of the disease - malaria and associated symptoms.

Equatorial Body Guard Insect Repellents: brand lotion and pump spray contain DEET, the most effective insect repelling ingredient ever developed. The repellent is available in a variety of formulas:
  • Equatorial Body Guard Supreme®: Contains 97% percent DEET (minimum), the highest concentration -- and therefore one of the longest lasting DEET formulas available from any manufacturer. It is recommended for use in areas of heavy insect infestation or other extreme conditions. You can rely on this 97% DEET spray for application to clothing or head and bed nets.
  • Equatorial Body Guard Deluxe and Junior: Our water based formulation has replaced the greater part of the alcohol found in competitive insect repellents. Because water does not evaporate as quickly as alcohol, and does not open the pores, the need to frequently re-apply the repellent is reduced. This makes Equatorial’s Body Guard Deluxe and Junior appropriate choices for protecting children as well as adults, and it leaves more insect repellent on the skin to fight against biting insects longer.
  • Equatorial’s Body Guard Deluxe®: Contains 50% DEET and is the best concentration recommended by scientist for protection from disease carrying insects.
  • Equatorial’s Body Guard Junior®: Contains 10% DEET and is appropriate for most situations where exposure to pests is minimal or for shorter exposure periods. It is also the best concentration recommended for children and infants.

For the elimination of Insects from Living and Sleeping Areas, Equatorial manufactures pyrethrum based insect spray for the control of house-hold insects such as house flies, mosquitoes and cockroaches. Pyrethrum is a 100% natural and environmentally friendly insecticide obtained from our partners in Kenya. Equatorial Mosquito and Housefly Blaster®.

These products are formulated from the natural pyrethrum with the appropriate synergist to ensure their effectiveness in ridding the target insects. The formulations are also water based to make it friendlier to the skin.
They could be used:
  • In the gardens to spray plants to kill aphids, beetles, ants, capsids and other insects.
  • Indoors as Space spray for flying insects - Kills flies, mosquitoes, lake flies, or a surface spray for crawlers to kill fleas, ants, bedbugs, lice, cockroaches etc.
  • Treatment of the disease - malaria and associated symptoms

Equimesin®: Equatorial brand of Artesunate, superiorly formulated to effectively treat both chloroquine susceptible and resistant malaria.
